Artist Spotlight – Sean Kingston
August 2011-
Nowadays, many artists take to social media to try to make it big. Sean Kingston did just that and succeeded. He was discovered from Mypspace and was quickly signed to Beluga Heights Records. His first single “Beautiful Girls” hit number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 list. The song also went on to be number one in Australia and Canada as well. At only 17 years old, this artist was quickly rising and was touring with Gwen Stefani and Beyonce, all before his 18th birthday.
His sophomore album, Tomorrow, was produced by some big name producers including Wyclef Jean, Red One, and J.R. Rotem. The lead single from the album “Fire Burning” quickly reached #5 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. He also went on to co-write Jason DeRulo’s hit “Whatcha Say” and even discovered R&B-reggae singer Iyaz on the exact website Kingston got his start.
Kingston’s third album is in the works and the first two singles “Eenie Meenie” and “Letting Go (Dutty Love)” features Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj respectively.
Kingston continues to become wildly popular and is eagerly finishing his third album in the aftermath of a Jet Ski accident that left him hospitalized in the ICU. Expect Kingston’s album to come out late 2011 or early 2012. In the meantime, make sure to check out Sean Kingston perform for FREE at the Topsfield Fair NEXT WEEK, on Thursday, October 6th, 2011!
