SUMMARY:2025 American Honey Princess Emilia Burnham
DESCRIPTION:Emilia Burnham\, the 2025 American Honey Princess\, will visit Massachusetts October 6-12.  She will make appearances at the Topsfield Fair\, speaking to fairgoers about the importance of honeybees to Massachusetts agriculture and how honeybee pollination diversifies our diet.  She will also share information about how honey is nature’s remedy.  Emilia will make appearances throughout the fairgrounds and will be present in the Essex County Beekeepers Association’s bee building \nEmilia is the daughter of John and Pavlina Burnham of Murrieta\, California.  She is a master’s student at the University of California\, Riverside\, where she is majoring in entomology.  Her studies focus on the honeybee microscopic fungal parasite Nosema ceranae.  Emilia is a fourth generation beekeeper and has a strong interest in honeybee products and their benefits to mankind. \nAs the 2025 American Honey Princess\, Emilia serves as a national spokesperson on behalf of the American Beekeeping Federation\, a trade organization representing beekeepers and honey producers throughout the United States.  The American Honey Queen and Princess speak and promote in venues nationwide\, and\, as such Princess Emilia will travel throughout the United States in 2025.  Prior to being selected as the American Honey Princess\, Emilia served as the 2024 California Honey Queen.  In this role\, she promoted the honey industry in a wide range of venues\, including educational presentations and community events. \nThe beekeeping industry touches the lives of every individual in our country.  In fact\, honeybees are responsible for nearly one-third of our entire diet\, in regards to the pollination services that they provide for a large majority of fruits\, vegetables\, nuts and legumes.  This amounts to nearly $19 billion per year of direct value from honeybee pollination to United States agriculture.
