The origin of the ceremonial Musical Ride is lost in history, but
could probably be traced back to the development of early cavalry
formations during battle.

The Musical Ride is performed by a full troop of 32 riders and
horses and consists of execution, formations and movements, accompanied
by music.
The riders volunteer for a term of three years. Each rider is
responsible for their own horse while on tour. After three years they
return to regular police work in their native Canada as members of the
RCMP.
The Musical Ride is a "Must See" at this year's Fair. In the past
the arena has filled to capacity for the show so prepare to arrive early
to get a good seat to this spectacular event.
