Rules And Regulations For Sections: A, B, C
- Vegetables and fruits must be grown, selected and arranged by an individual. Groups that work on a vegetable garden must enter a plate by having a child choose the vegetable(s) they would like to enter. (It isn't fair for a group to compete against an individual.) Each child needs their own entry form.
- Exhibitors should keep in mind when selecting specimens that the judge looks for:
- Uniformity of size, shape and color
- Trueness of type
- Proper number of specimens per plate
- Exhibits in the proper class
- Washed when necessary
- Leave one inch tops on beets and carrots
- Onions should not be peeled
- Stems off field Tomatoes
- Tips left on Beans
- Damaged parts trimmed or removed
- Peppers - same number of lobes
- Condition of, and freedom from blemishes
- Squmpkins or large overgrown pumpkins will not be exhibited in the Jr. dept. These are entered in the adult section, one per family.
- You must follow all rules and regulations listed, including the entry dates, or you will be disqualified.
- All exhibits must represent the work of the individual. The child must set up the exhibit for those under 20 years of age.
- An individual may only enter once per class.
Awards For Sections A, B, C
- Only worthy entries will receive prizes at the discretion of the judges.
- Honorable mention ribbon to be awarded at the discretion of the judge.
- Sweepstakes rosette will be awarded in both the fruit and vegetable sections for the best plate in the show.
- A special award (ribbon) will be given to: 1. Best pair of pumpkins in the show 2. Best pair of squash in the show
- All ribbons, awards and entries can be picked up on Tuesday, October 15th between 3pm and 6pm. All monetary awards (1st-5th) will be mailed to you.

Rules And Regulations
- This will be an individual event. The youth should be under 20 yrs of age.
- All vegetables must be grown, picked and arranged by the child.
- The exhibit shall occupy a space 3ft wide x 4ft deep. No taller than 2 1/2 feet. Only worthy products should be exhibited. Each kind of vegetable should be properly labeled as to variety and in the amounts indicated in Section A. At least 5 types of vegetables or fruits.
- Exhibits will be judged according to trueness to type, arrangement, freedom from disease, insect and mechanical injury, also condition and uniformity.
- The exhibitor should have prepared any canning or decorations used.
- List of vegetables and variety must be included in the display.
- Be creative. Choose a theme or design that draws a viewer to your display.
- The entrant will be disqualified if he or she does not set up his or her own display.
- Follow dates and times for entry, set up and pick up.

Rules And Regulations
Entry forms must be received by Monday, September 16th by 4 pm.
All individual entries must be brought to the Vegetable building on Wednesday, October 2nd between 4 - 8 pm.
All group entries must be brought in as assigned in acceptance letter Wednesday, October 2nd, between 4-6 pm or between 6-8 pm. exhibitors must leave the Junior Vegetable area at 8 pm
All entries that you'd like to pick up must be retrieved on Tuesday, Oct. 15th between 3-6 pm. Otherwise they will be donated to the food bank. Award ribbons may also be picked up on Tuesday, October 15th, 3-6 pm.
All monetary awards will be mailed.
Individuals
- Pumpkins may be decorated in any manner but it must be obvious that a pumpkin is being used.
- No carving of the flesh please. you may secure decorations with pins, glue, etc.
- No artificial fruits or vegetables are to be used.
- Pumpkins are not to be taller than 15 inches. The decorative pumpkin must sit in a space 1 foot long, keeping in mind that the shelf is only 8 inches deep. Decorations may be taller, but must be self-supporting and the entry has to be stable enough to move.
- An exhibitor may only enter once per class.
- We try to be fair to all. This is why we have so many age groupings. We have family entries for adults who would like to participate with their children. Children entering in an age group must complete their own work.
- Pumpkins will be judged keeping in mind age, creativity, and the originality of theme.
- The fair and its committee members are not responsible for damage or lost items.

- Option 1: Three tiers, each 3 feet long and 8 inches wide. This entry includes a backdrop that is 3 ft. wide by 2.5 ft. tall. The flat cardboard backdrop must be stapled to support provided. (no tri-folds please). The group's name must not appear on the backdrop.
Option 2: Two tiers each 3 ft. Long and 8 inches wide. The decorations cannot be taller than 18 inches (no backdrop).Due to space limitations and fairness in exhibiting there will be a limited number of groups accepted. Also a group may not have more than 20 participants.

- The single theme should be chosen by the group. Keep in mind there are awards for Best Educational Theme and Team Work. Please remember that this is strictly a youth contest. Groups will be disqualified from the judging if it appears the adults are doing the majority of the decorating. Children must help set-up exhibit.
- You will be given a specific space to set up in and it is your job to make sure that your exhibit stays within those parameters. (Suggestion: Set up your exhibit at home first.)
- All groups may have a sign with your group's name printed on it. The sign must be 12 inches long x 3 inches tall. This sign will be turned over after judging. Please use this exact size for uniformity.

Theme: Fruits And Vegetables "The Building Blocks Of Life"
Entry forms must be received by Monday, September 16th at 4 pm.
Posters must be brought to the Vegetable building, Monday, September 23rd between 12 noon and 6 pm.
Posters are secured high on a barn wall.
All schools, troops, clubs or other groups who want to enter in this individual contest will need to have a contest amongst themselves first. Then a group may enter no more than 3 entries each. We have limited space and want to have as much of the commmunity involved as possible.
Award ribbons will be picked up on Tuesday, October 15th between 3 - 6 pm.
All 1st through 5th place awards not picked up will be mailed.
Monetary awards will be mailed.

- Posters may be decorated in any manner keeping in mind the theme, using original artwork-no computer art.
- The posters should be no larger than 30" x 30". Any variation of the theme is acceptable. Please only use poster board. NO FORM BOARD.
- The posters will be judged for use of theme, creativity, color and public eye appeal.
- No poster will be hung if the committee feels it may be offensive to the public. Prizes will be awarded as the judge deems worthy.
- An exhibitor may enter only once in any given class.
- The fair is not responsible for damaged or lost items.
- Any entry not believed to be completed by the child will be disqualified.
- Each poster must be marked clearly with the name, age, full address and phone number on the back of their poster.

- It must have a wire attached so that it can be hung on a trellis fence.
- Only one entry per class.
- Wall Hangings will be judged for use of materials, color, creativity, public eye appeal and use of theme.
- You must send in entry forms and bring in exhibits by the dates and times listed above.
- Your name, town, age and phone number must be attached to the back of the hanging.
